Event Recap: Magene Velocity Race – Beyond Borders
Philippines vs Russia Exhibition Match
On December 6–7, 2025, the UP Diliman Sunken Garden came alive as riders, cycling fans, and brands gathered for the Philippine Bicycle Demo & Expo 2025. Among the many highlights of the two-day event, one moment stood out — the Magene Velocity Race – Beyond Borders, an exhibition eRacing match that brought Team Philippines 🇵🇭 face-to-face with Team Russia 🇷🇺.
Held on December 6, the race delivered a high-energy showcase of performance, technology, and international competition, drawing crowds eager to witness elite riders push their limits in a live eRacing environment.
Team Philippines was proudly represented by the Go For Gold Cycling Team, alongside Poul Aquino, back-to-back Magene Velocity Champion from Dreyna. From the moment the race began, the atmosphere was electric — with spectators gathering around the Magene booth, cheering on riders, and watching power numbers climb in real time.
Across both days of the expo, the Magene and Exar booth became a central hub of activity, blending competition, community, and hands-on product experiences.
Racing, Community, and Real Energy
The Magene Velocity Race wasn’t just about competition — it was about bringing people together. Cycling communities, Magene PH Strava members, KOLs, and brand supporters all made their way to the booth, creating a constant buzz throughout the event.
Live Magene Velocity eRacing sessions kept crowds engaged, while rider meet-ups and casual conversations turned the space into a genuine community hangout rather than just a display area. The presence of familiar faces from the local cycling scene made the experience even more memorable for attendees.
Bike & Brand Highlights
Throughout the two-day expo, attendees were able to get hands-on with the full lineup of products from Magene and Exar, seeing firsthand how smart cycling technology performs in both training and race scenarios.
One of the biggest moments of the event was the public launch of the Exar GR45 Gravel Wheelset. Gravel and endurance riders showed strong interest in the GR45, drawn by its performance-focused design and versatility — making it one of the most talked-about products at the booth.
Magene’s smart trainers and cycling technology were also in constant use during live demos and races, giving riders a real feel for the precision and responsiveness of Magene’s ecosystem.
Crowds, Guests, and Media Presence
Over the course of the two-day event, the booth and eRacing area recorded an estimated 1,000+ foot traffic, reflecting the strong pull of both the Magene Velocity Race and the hands-on demos.
Notable guests and attendees included:
- Sid Maderazo, Magene PH & Exar Brand Ambassador
- Louie Cupino
- Dee Jocson
- Bumble Bike
- Kuya Popoy
- Media coverage from PTV Sports
Their presence added to the excitement and helped amplify the reach of the event beyond the expo grounds.
Hands-On Demos and the 1000 Watts Challenge
Beyond the race itself, attendees were invited to try Magene’s smart trainers through interactive demos. Riders lined up to test their strength, technique, and endurance — but nothing drew a crowd quite like the 1000 Watts Challenge.
This crowd-favorite activity pushed participants to hit peak power outputs, with spectators watching closely as numbers climbed higher and higher. The challenge turned into a friendly yet competitive moment that perfectly captured the spirit of the event.
Promos, Giveaways, and Anniversary Celebrations
In celebration of Magene’s 10th Anniversary, exclusive event-only promos were offered throughout December 6–7. These included the 10 + 10 Anniversary Sale on select items, along with giveaways and free merch for customers who made purchases.
Winners of the 1000 Watts Challenge took home limited-edition Magene trucker caps, with top honors going to:
🏆 Marc Ryan Lago – 1st Place
🏆 Poul Aquino – 2nd Place
🏆 Jericho Lucero – 3rd Place
The giveaways added another layer of excitement and kept energy levels high throughout the event.
Overall Vibe
From start to finish, the vibe of the Magene Velocity Race – Beyond Borders was festive, fun, and high-energy. Attendees loved watching live eRacing battles, meeting cycling KOLs and pro riders, and getting hands-on with smart training technology.
More than just a race or a product showcase, the event felt like a celebration of cycling culture — where competition, innovation, and community came together in one space.
